The research collectively informed eleven conceptual planning proposals for the entire City of Chicago that conceived housing as a catalyst to reinforce transportation cores.


Students then individually zoomed in on a specific moment of their urban concept and focused on the design of new multi-unit housing at the scale of an average city block.



River Reclaim proposes that housing can re-frame an image of a city by re-conceptualizing the Chicago River as a singular, continuous infrastructure along which individual river sites are re-developed as new magnets of activity and residential density .
